Arrived at the Barcelona bus depot at 1:00 am last night. Our hotel is worn down, with no hot water, but everything we need is here.

Today we strolled along a dock eating ice cream. The humidity was insane. Later we checked out La Segrada Familia.

We spent the entire evening strolling down Las Ramblas.

I was shocked when an altercation occurred between an older woman and two young men. (Ooh! A love triangle!) Someone took a punch and the cops intervened. The police grabbed the first man easily, shoving him in the cop car. Seconds later, another man began yelling. The cop grapped him, but the man kept waving his arms, swinging, trying to free himself while shouting defiantly. The cop, angered, lifted the man by his shirt collar and shoved him backwards, glaring.

I watched as the other police circled him beginning to lift their batons. I sensed a Rodney King coming on. But one civilian bravely stepped forward and said LOUDLY "NO...NO..." and the cops resisted beating him, but tossed him around ruthlessly all the way to the cop car. Later we surveyed the damage done from the fight. A florist's greenhouse had lost a wall. We watched the owner sweep the glass and rescue what flowers were spared on the bricks.

Tomorrow we'll go to a nude beach. There's an adventure around every corner, here!
